In Southeast Alaska, the Celebration is the premiere event featuring Native arts and culture. The biennial event kicks off with a canoe landing ceremony, and in 2018 we decided to capture the popular event from the air.
After weeks of coordination with event organizers, participants, law enforcement, the Coast Guard, and others, everything went off smoothly.
We took drone shots of the grand entrance parade live on statewide TV, and later put together this social piece to bring the event to a wider audience and accompany reporters’ stories on the event.
